Televised Abortion And Its Aftermath
MTV currently runs a program called "16 And Pregnant" which follows the ins and outs of teen pregnancy in the United States. A recent episode featured a young couple who make the decision to terminate a second pregnancy after already having had one child. As I think about the situation of these young parents, I find myself asking what the response of God's people should be. It occurs to me that if there had been a strong, loving and sacrificial presence of Christ's followers in the lives of these teenagers then perhaps the outcome of their situation might have been different.
"Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'" Matthew 25.37-40
